The Miss Ethnic Queen Pageant (MEQ) is open to ALL girls between the ages of four (4) and twenty one (21). Just The Place Inc. believes that 'WE ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL'. The MEQ Pageant is a talent competition that fosters positive self esteem in all our contestants.
The MEQ Pageant is an annual event which takes place at the beginning of Spring:
THE AGE CATEGORIES
LITTLE MISS. - Ages four (4) through seven (7)
JUNIOR MISS. - Ages eight (8) through twelve (12)
TEEN MISS. - Ages thirteen (13) through seventeen (17)
YOUNG MISS. - Ages eighteen (18) through twenty one (21)
CATEGORIES OF COMPETITION
APPEARANCE: Contestants should have a youthful appearance.
PERFORMANCE: Each contestant must perform a three (3) minute routine. (Dance, song, skit, poetry, instrumental etc.)
EVENING WEAR: Each contestant must model an age appropriate evening gown with matching accessories.
PERSONALITY: After introducing themselves to the audience (name, age, school, social activities) each contestant shares their future ambition and goals.
ALL MEQ contestants receive an official MEQ sash, an official MEQ participation trophy, an official MEQ T-Shirt and an official MEQ pageant memory album.
There is one (1) Grand Prize winner in each category as well as 1st, 2nd and 3rd place runner ups in each respective category.
The Grand Prize Winners in each category receive the Supreme MEQ crown and matching sash, a cash prize and a savings bond.
The ‘runner-ups” receive Junior MEQ crowns with the matching sash.
In addition, official MEQ trophies are awarded to the following contestants who have excelled in these areas:
There is a one time application fee of $50.00
All other fees are raised via sponsors and/or advertisement for the MEQ memory book.
